Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

Omoicho ("Omoicho", "we", "us", or "the app") is an analog-style photography and memory-keeping app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Omoicho you agree to the practices described here.

1. Our approach to your data

Omoicho is built to keep your memories with you, not on our servers. We do not operate a central database of your photos or notes. The content you create stays on your device, and, only if you choose to sign in and enable backup, in your own private Google Drive storage. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information the app handles

a) Photos and memory content. The photos you take in the app, together with the titles, notes, places, and dates you add, are stored in the app's private storage on your device. This content is never uploaded to us.

b) Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's approximate and precise location to mark where a memory was created, to show it on the map, and to check whether you are standing near an existing memory. Location is stored as part of the memory entry on your device (and in your backup, if enabled). It is not sent to us or used for advertising.

c) Account information. Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which provides us with basic account identifiers such as your name, email address, and a user ID so the app can recognize your account. Guest mode does not create an account.

d) Backup data. If you sign in and grant backup access, the app copies your memories to a hidden, app-specific folder (the Google Drive "appDataFolder") in your own Google Drive. Only the app can read this folder, and it lives under your Google account, not ours.

e) Purchases. If you buy the optional ad-removal upgrade, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that the purchase was made, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.

f) Advertising. Unless you have purchased ad removal, the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use device information and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's policies.

g) Diagnostics. The app and the Google SDKs it uses may collect limited technical information, such as crash, performance, and device data, to keep the app working reliably.

3. Permissions the app requests

You can grant or deny these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app still works without the camera or location, with reduced functionality.

4. Third-party services

Omoicho relies on the following Google services, each governed by Google's own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy :

We do not share your memory content with any third party.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your memories stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Deleting a memory in the app removes it from the device and, on the next sync, from your Google Drive backup.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Remove Google account in the app. This erases everything the app has stored in your Google Drive, withdraws the app's access to your Google account, and deletes the account record held through Firebase Authentication. Memories saved on that device are kept so you can keep using the app without an account; uninstalling the app removes those as well.

If you no longer have the app installed, you can delete your account on the account deletion page, or write to lefou0@outlook.com and we will delete your account information for you.

6. Children's privacy

Omoicho is not directed to children under the minimum age required by law in your country (at least 13, or higher where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.

7. Security

We rely on your device's protections and Google's infrastructure to help safeguard your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information the app handles.

8. International users

Where third-party services process data, that processing may take place on servers located in other countries. By using the app you understand that your information may be handled in accordance with the policies of those services.

9. Your choices

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice.

11. Contact
